House of Community
Although Bait-ul Jamaat was founded by 5 families in June 2015. It started with Imam Zulqarnain Abdu Shahid wanting to make a difference in the underserved communities right at his home-base - Staten Island.
With that concept in mind, Jamilah LaSalle, his wife and Associate Director of Richmond Senior Services, shared his vision by his side and together along with five other families helped paved the way to where BJ House of Community is at today.
With our love for Allah (swt), prayer, perseverance and consistency, we started Bait-ul Jamaat and have been enjoying its successes. Working together to help the under-served is none other than a privilege.
Our Mission
Provide food security, mental health awareness through arts, various activities, programs, educational series and advocacy support, to the underserved families borough-wide; starting right here in our base of-Staten Island.
